About Fun City Tattoo
Fun City Tattoo has been in the East Village since 1976 and calls itself Manhattan's oldest tattoo shop, steps from Tompkins Square Park. Walk-ins are welcome for small to medium tattoos and flash designs, while larger or custom pieces are booked by appointment. The artists work in American traditional, with bold lines and classic skulls, eagles and roses, and in Japanese imagery such as koi, peonies and hannya masks. Fine line, and black and gray including portraits and photorealistic detail, round out the styles. One artist has tattooed since 2001 and focuses on lettering with a calligraphy background. A team of about a dozen artists works here, and some take appointments only. Rated 4.8 from 326 Google reviews, 301 of them five stars.
