About Lethe Tattoo
Japanese Irezumi, dark art and black and grey realism are the focus at Lethe Tattoo, a private East Village studio with two resident artists, Philipus Murdijanto and Gusti Negara, and over 20 years of hands-on experience. Work leans toward large sleeves, back pieces and cover ups, and the artists tattoo in traditional Japanese color and full-color illustrative styles as well as black and grey. Dragon, portrait, blackwork and neo traditional pieces are on the menu. Every piece is drawn from scratch for the client, and the artists do not work from flash sheets. Appointments run Tuesday through Sunday, from noon to 8 PM, closed Mondays, and walk-ins are welcome during open hours when an artist is free. The studio is a licensed New York City tattoo studio using single-use needles. Rated 5.0 from 28 Google reviews, every one at five stars.
